RTDS hosted Zero Pollution Green Week partner event
SUSFERT joined four other H2020/BBI-JU projects in a RTDS led Green Week Partner Event on 8 June, 2021 to discuss the crucial role of industry-academic partnership in the circular bio economy aiming for zero pollution.
This is in line with the goals of the European Commission’s Green Deal, as part of the Paris Agreement, to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. Europe aims to be climate neutral by 2050.
Accordingly, the European Commission has adopted an action plan to achieve zero pollution in the fields of energy, industry, mobility, agriculture, biodiversity and climate.
Five industry-driven circular and bioeconomy projects, BIOVEXO Project – Biopesticides to fight Xylella SUSBIND – SUStainable bio BINDers SUSFERT – SUStainable FERTtilisers SUSTAINair – Sustainable aerospace value chains TECH4EFFECT – precision forestry met on-line during the 2021 EU Green Week to discuss how each of them would contribute towards achieving zero pollution in their respective fields.
SUSFERT Scientific Co-ordinator, Günter Brader Senior Scientist from AIT, and Chemical Engineer Biorefinery at SAPPI Europe, Nikolaus Schwaiger, both highlighted SUSFERT’s activities in developing bio-based fertilisers that aim for zero pollution. Their presentations were followed by a panel discussion.
